Candle Wax

Personally, I enjoy deluging my fingers into the drippings of candle wax and allowing the glaze to dry on my hands. Weird as it may seem,  I believe that may be how estheticians got the idea of hot gloves and soaking the hands of clients into wax for a soft, purified finish.

Nicholas Kirkwood used the idea for another finish-- shoes. These babies have been the talk of the Fall 2010 runways since Rodarte models strutted in the molding. They're fresh, fierce, and simply fun. Looks like another season of great choices from Rodarte, huh.

McQueen

Alexander McQueen:
A celebration of a few favorite designs by Alexander McQueen. The loss of Lee McQueen is nothing but sad and shocking. He was infamous for bringing bold drama to the fashion stage when showcasing his controversial collections. He capped creativity in every ensemble and gave designers and fashionistas entertainment along with his truly artistic one-of-a-kind designs.

Magazine Moment

944 magazine covered the Jesus Estrada fashion show, and guess who made the magazine's editorial??

My moment of fame is quite exciting :)

Couldn't Not

From Vogue Paris: My favorite editorial pictures in a while.
I love the inconsistency, and the exaggerated view-point...
And how the models molded in complete character.

Estrada's Grand Entrance

I was very fortunate to attend the fashion show party of Project Runway's Season 7 contestant, Jesus Estrada. He showcased his premiere line at the Red Circle in San Diego's gaslamp district.

Buzzing fashionistas and industry insiders gathered around to see Estrada's 'punky-twist' on modern style. I saw all the season's trends glorified in his line...from embellishments and studs, to sheer blacks and bold patterns.

With bangin' beats from local Dj's, the dramatic gowns and goth-like glitz bulleted down the runway.
My sister, Michelle, styled the striking hair of mod models with others from the Unite team.
My favorite piece from his line:

Uplift + Empower

This new single from Florence and The Machine has kept my singing head in a quite heavenly state.

Listen to it once and you'll find yourself in a slow subconscious sway...
Listen to it twice and you'll grasp hold of the lovely lesson-granting lyrics...
Listen to it three times, and amidst your deep thinking you'll be doing simultaneous downloading.

The singer, Florence (obviously), loved the original version of the song by Candi Station. So, she and her band (the machine) slightly innovated the song into their own and played it as an enthusiastic adventure to uplift and empower their audience. Works for me!

Creatively Cozy

Keep cozy in the withered weathered- but don't abandon your aesthetic.

I've created this style look from H&M's website.
It's what I would be wearing today if the weather allotted opportunity for exiting a cozy room. With an adorable coat, thick tights and a thick sweater top, the cold-factor is vanished. Throw on a cute skirt, boots and accessories galore to glam it up some more!

Imbue yourself with creativity rather than covering up your look with an ordinary coat. My favorite blogger, The Glamourai, designed this funky wrap to toss on top. Move the magical sleeves as you like and create a vest, wrap, or dress. The many ways to wear it make it mandatory for winter wardrobes.

Fiercely Feminine Fashion

These photographs are so stylishly strong and independently inspiring. For today, a little fashion motivation and fierce femininity is right on target.
